Join our Curricular Practical Training (CPT) workshop for students with F-1 visa status to learn more about CPT eligibility requirements, the application timeline and request process.

Post-Completion Optional Practical Training (OPT)
F-1 students who are planning to work after graduation will learn details of the Post-Completion Optional Pratical Training (OPT) application process.
- Sessions take place online via Zoom unless specifically noted and will be approximately 1 hour with time for questions. For in-person workshops please bring your Buff OneCard and arrive no later than 5 minutes before the presentation start time.

How to Apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT) STEM Extension
Are you currently in an authorized period of post-completion OPT and interested in the possibility of extending your OPT authorization? If you earned a degree in the U.S. that was in an , then you may be eligible for the OPT STEM extension.
Join our OPT STEM extension workshop to learn more about the OPT STEM extension eligibility requirements; the application timeline and process; what to expect after you have submitted your OPT STEM Extension application to USCIS; and the OPT STEM extension reporting requirements.

So You’ve Applied for OPT… Now What?
While authorized for OPT, SEVIS reporting is required in order to maintain your F-1 status. This workshop is intended for students with a pending or approved post-completion OPT application, and helps students authorized for OPT better understand their OPT reporting responsibilities.
