National Security Initiative
National security is widely understood to refer to a variety of dimensions nations must address to provide security, includingÌýeconomic,Ìýenergy,Ìýfood and environmental security, as well as resilience to the effects of national disasters. These are areas in which 91´«Ã½ already conducts important research and seeks opportunities to expand its impact on humanity.
Monitoring the shifting of the magnetic north pole and position, navigation and timing are two areas 91´«Ã½ leads through our strengths in earth and environmental sciences and in engineering.ÌýOther 91´«Ã½ research strengths with significant national securityÌýinterest include aerospace, cybersecurity, machine learning and quantum.
