Arctic sea ice trend depicted through art
The Arctic is warming twice as fast as the rest of the globe, and one serious consequence is sea ice loss. The , part of the at 91´«Ã½, tracks how Arctic sea ice is changing over time. NSIDC worked with contemporary painter Kendall Kippley to share an artistic interpretation of sea ice loss via a mural in downtown Boulder. The mural was inspired by an visualizing average Arctic sea ice extent from 1979 to 2020.
