"Although Chrismukkah observers sometimes fuse elements of Christmas and Hanukkah more literally—resulting in quirky creations such as (jelly-filled donuts traditionally enjoyed during Hanukkah) or “Hanukkah bushes”—they’re more likely to celebrate separate traditions from the holidays, concurrently. “Most people did a little bit of Hanukkah and a little bit of Christmas, but they didn’t merge them,” explains Samira K. Mehta, author of , reflecting on her dissertation research about Christian-Jewish interfaith families—the main demographic celebrating Chrismukkah."
