Once again, I&S will be participating in the annual CU Employee Softball Tournament! Join us at on Thursday, July 18 and Friday, July 19 to cheer on your I&S team as they take on teams from other units across campus. First pitches are tentatively scheduled for 4:30 pm. Recreation Services and the Infrastructure & Sustainability Inclusive Excellence Committee (ISIEC) is excited to announce a free week at the Main Campus Recreation Center (“the Rec”) from July 15-19! During this week, your Buff OneCard will provide complimentary access to all facilities at the Rec, including:

• Cardio equipment
• Weight room
• Courts (basketball, tennis and pickleball)
• Pools
• All classes, including yoga, F45, Pilates, and Zumba

Additionally, we have planned a special event on July 16 featuring:

• Free food and exciting prizes

• Information sessions from WorkWell and the MOVE program

Since 2003, the Elevations Credit Union Buffalo Bicycle Classic (BBC) has raised $3.4 million dollars in scholarships for 91��ý students. Join us for an incredible ride on Sunday, Sept. 9 through Boulder County, and help continue the legacy of the last 22 years supporting the College of Arts & Sciences BBC Scholarship Fund. With nine routes to choose from, the Buffalo Bicycle Classic has a ride for everyone.

CU faculty and staff members can use code CUSTAFF for $20 off, and CU students can use the code CUSTUDENTS23 for $50 off registration (valid through 9/1/24). CU students and staff must use their colorado.edu email when registering for the event to receive the discount. Also if you put together a team of 10 or more riders, there is an additional $15 off per rider ($15 will be refunded to each rider’s credit card once the 10th person has registered for the team).

As we discuss safety during meetings or with our family friends, one topic that is not addressed as often as it should be is vehicle safety. Driving a vehicle on campus, whether it be a golf cart or university vehicle, is just as important as operating your personal vehicle. Our campus is always buzzing with activity even during the summer months while the students are away from campus. 

A few safety best practices include 

• Wear your seatbelt
• Put your phone away (including the earbuds)
• Look out for pedestrians
• Give yourself extra time while driving on campus or commuting to work 
• Think about how “your choices behind the wheel matter”

The FM safety committee meets the third Tuesday of every month to discuss general safety concerns, review safety reports and on-the-job injuries and recommend training needs and resources.
